The BiG Challenge

The BiG Challenge is our flagship enterprise competition for students in Y7-9. It aims to ignite entrepreneurial spirit by giving teams the opportunity to develop and grow their own business from a £25 start up loan.

Teams are matched with volunteer Business Advisers from local employers, who help them shape their ideas and bring them to market. The competition culminates in a large awards ceremony with awards, with interim marketing awards at Christmas, an opportunity to sell at Moor Market and a Dragon's Den event along the way!

The BiG Community challenge has a social action focus, with teams working to tackle issues that are important to young people and their communities.

Both programmes are linked to the Skills Builder Universal Framework, to support participants' development of essential skills for the workplace.

There are opportunities for employer engagement on both through volunteering and sponsorship.
